GOSHEN: How to Experience fertility, prosperity and security

I trust you are keeping well in the goodness of God wherever you are. What better time to seek refuge and dwell in God’s presence than such a time as this when the world is wrap in so much uncertainties. Jesus said Jn 16:33 in this world you will have so many troubles. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” That means he has the antidote against the troubles of this world. It was similar experience the Israelites in Goshen when they were in Egypt.  And it is my prayer that it will be your experience too in Jesus name.

Meaning of Goshen

Goshen is a symbolic land that describes fertility, prosperity and security. It is a symbol of where God’s people live near to Him and God secures their welfare from the prevalent evil in the world. You can call it the secret place. So you will not be wrong if you say we are discussing about the secret place of God. This is a territory opened to all the sanctified. Not many find access to the secret place. Some wander off from it, others do not know how to access the treasures of Goshen but that does not mean Goshen is not a land of peace. You see, it does not matter the evil that might have befallen you, I am here to emphasise that God is good and faithful to His promises. Your saviour and redeemer will surely come through for you.

We are going to read briefly about Joseph from Genesis 45:9-11. But before let me quickly remind you that Joshua is one of the earliest typology of Christ. Both the name Joshua and Jesus are similar root and they mean saviour. So see the words that Joshua spoke here as a prophetic word of Christ and it will bless you more for all scriptures are God’s breath, His word given for your salvation. Now

Gen 45:9-11

Hurry and go up to my father and say to him, ‘Thus says your son Joseph, God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me; do not tarry. You shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you shall be near me, you and your children and your children’s children, and your flocks, your herds, and all that you have. There I will provide for you, for there are yet five years of famine to come, so that you and your household, and all that you have, do not come to poverty.’

The children of Israel were exempted from calamity while in Goshen. Look at Exo 8:22-23, 9:4, 9:26.

There is a place where you can be nearer to God, and God’s sheikinah glory will keep you safe. In Job 1:10, the bible said, even satan confirmed it that there was an edge around job and everything he had. But even Job didn’t know that. Do you believe there is a place like that for you? 

Why are believers not manifesting this Goshen reality?

We look at few things here, 

1. Lack of knowledge. The cure for it is knowledge and obedience to God’s word 

2. Fear Job 3:25. The cure for it is confident courage, 

3. Disbelief. You need faith, 

All these causes wrong confession and experiences

First of all Goshen was once open to the Israelite, walking in a period of grace it was easy for them to receive of God’s benevolence. Then God’s agenda of salvation extended to cover the whole world even you and I wherever you are. From that instance Goshen became a spiritual reality. 

Let me reiterate that, Goshen is a spiritual reality. Jesus introduced us into that phase, He said the Father those who will worship Him in truth and in spirit John 4, therefore He ensured that we all drink of the same spirit that Spirit which was from the beginning, the spirit of blessing on Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Jesus, Peter, Paul and in us today. Alleluia. 

You have the dynamic power of God in you. Paul prayed in Eph 1 from 17 that you may come to understand the magnitude of the power that is in you. That power is a generating force, it makes you a principality in your locality, it makes you to produce Goshen reality where you are. 

You have to believe what I am saying. Why?

Because this segment of Goshen reality is, “be it done onto you according to your faith. It is no longer according to the faith of your fathers or the faith of the man of God. No it is according to the level of your faith that the Goshen reality of fertility, prosperity, welfare and protection can be your personal experience.

Do you know that some Egyptians benefited because they obeyed God’s word. What makes your Goshen experience to be true is how you heed to the word of God. In Exo 11 and 12 we read of the Passover and the instruction was clear on how to partake in eating the flesh of the lamb with bitter herbs and smearing the blood on the doorpost. In Exo 9:20 people of Egypt who feared the Lord and obeyed his command were exempted from the hailstone.  

Goshen experience is real irrespective of the happenings around you. So you cannot call conspiracy what the people of the world call conspiracy. Your faith is the only reality that hold, every other circumstance is bound to fade away; they are not real when faith comes. Only faith is real. Faith is the reality. Hold onto your faith no matter how hard, no matter how long. In Isaiah it is said if you do not stand in faith you will not stand at all. Is 7:9

In this era of Goshen experience a man of God cannot just bless you, you must be blessing worthy. Jesus puts it like this; when you enter a house first say “peace be with you” and if a man of peace is there let your peace rest on him. No wonder Jesus would say, your faith has made you well. Actually it is your faith and the power that comes from the subject of your faith. What I mean is this; you may have faith in religion on in the Pharisees but until the faith was directed on Jesus then the woman with the issue of blood could be healed. Sometimes the anointed person ought to release the blessing before your ready faith can download t from God. Your faith produces your Goshen experience because you have direct access to God by grace. Amen

What do I do when I have faith but failed to experience the promised life in Goshen being near to God?

 Alright. I acknowledge I am growing and will continue to learn and grow while on this side of eternity. 

I refuse to get weaken in my faith. Yes I do feel sad but I quickly rise up, learn and access myself and continue to have faith for the next thing. Faith is a life style. 

Continue to live by faith. Many maybe your affliction but God will come through for you if you stand in faith and patience. I believe in giving birth like the Hebrew women, I believe in being exempted from calamities and death by the blood line of the Lamb of God, I believe in prosperity and deliverance. I believe the best of the world is reserve for you in Christ.

In the midst of present challenges, do not panic, don’t be afraid, draw near to God. You are God’s beloved and near to Him. He will keep you; He will provide for you. Don’t settle for less, believe for the best and may your dwellings be a Goshen experience in Jesus name. Amen
