Do you know money is not neutral? It is controlled and can control. So Jesus has some harsh things to say about wealth, savings and investing. But His positive teachings outweigh the negative. In this episode of the Champions Diet we are focusing on what Jesus says about investment.

Jesus came to teach and bring us into the kingdom. And every kingdom exists on laws governing every system including the economic system. The kingdom of God has its economic system and it runs without any limit, not affected by deflation or inflation. It is a perfect system and you can connect to it. Hear Jesus in Matt 6:19-21

Matt 6 19 “Do not store up riches for yourselves here on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and robbers break in and steal. 20 Instead, store up riches for yourselves in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and robbers cannot break in and steal. 21 For your heart will always be where your riches are.

The first thing Christ is teaching us here is to trust God and not the economic system of this world. God is your real wealth. You see, God gives you basic seed-wealth when you came into the world. He gave you life-time, talents and treasures in form of people and resources to begin. Because God is your wealth, your heart originally is to be with God. When man fell from God and built their own systems their heart went away from God onto any other source of wealth. So get back to the origin. God is your wealth. Trust Him. Never trust in riches or investment. Another clear lesson Christ is giving us in this text is a solid storage system.

Luke 19:11-26 Jesus said, “A man of noble birth went to a distant country to lay claim to his kingship and then return. 13 Beforehand, he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minas.a ‘Conduct business with this until I return,’ he said.

15When he returned from procuring his kingship, he summoned the servants to whom he had given the money, to find out what each one had earned.

16The first servant came forward and said, ‘Master, your mina has produced ten more minas.’

17His master replied, ‘Well done, good servant! Because you have been faithful in a very small matter, you shall have authority over ten cities.’

18The second servant came and said, ‘Master, your mina has made five minas.’

19And to this one he said, ‘You shall have authority over five cities.’

20Then another servant came and said, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I have laid away in a piece of cloth.b 21For I was afraid of you, because you are a harsh man. You withdraw what you did not deposit and reap what you did not sow.’

22His master replied, ‘You wicked servant, I will judge you by your own words. So you knew that I am a harsh man, withdrawing what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow? 23Why then did you not deposit my money in the bank, and upon my return I could have collected it with interest?’

24Then he told those standing by, ‘Take the mina from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.’

25‘Master,’ they said, ‘he already has ten!’

26He replied, ‘I tell you that everyone who has will be given more; but the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.

To conserve or save is the least you can do to the seed-wealth God has given to you. Conserve your time, talent and treasure. That in itself is not enough.  From what you earn now you ought to keep something aside for investment no matter how little. Learn to do business, learn to earn with what you have. If you value what you have, you will use it and it will appreciate. But if you do not value it, you will lose it and get nothing at the end but hunger and poverty.

John 12:24 24 Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.

If you hold onto your resources it remains as it is. But if you invest it wisely it will multiply. You discover the riches in what God has given you by cultivating them. Cultivate good use of your time, talent and treasures of relationships and resources.

Luke 15:8 Or suppose a woman has ten silver coinsa]”>[a] and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it?

Treasure every dime to enter your hand and be accountable

See Luke 16:10-11 He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much. So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?

Be wise. Money that enters your hand is a test. You have to be faithful in these things. Jesus teaches us to be faithful with money no matter how little you have now.

Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

Jesus teaching about investment involves generosity it covers giving into investment too. The measure you put in determines the magnitude of your returns. May you never lack investment capital in Jesus name. Amen

Matthew 13:44 The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

Be sure of what you want to invest in. One right investment can change the course of your life.

Luke 14:28: For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?”

Before you invest get the details and plan. Don’t die today and deprived your family of basic necessities because you are investing for tomorrow.

Matt. 21:33-34 “Listen to another parable. There was a landowner who planted a vineyard and put a wall around it and dug a wine press in it, and built a tower, and rented it out to vine-growers, and went on a journey.

“And when the harvest time approached, he sent his slaves to the vine-growers to receive his produce.”

Be a good steward of God’s resources in your care and invest in what will yield a good return. Expect returns, in fact huge profits from your investments.

Mk. 4:8 And other seeds fell into the good soil and as they grew up and increased, they yielded a crop and produced thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.

Be mindful of where you invest. Some investment wrongly done will give you bad returns. Check out the field that is the company, also consider if their values are in-line with yours.

Mark 8:36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?

Whatever investment you make must not be at the expense of your soul otherwise it is invalid.

I pray that as you invest your time, talent and treasures may you receive a rich harvest in Jesus name. Amen
